Rare Webster's Dictionary

Hardcover 1927 dictionary of Webster's early edition. It's in good condition with minor defects. It's old and its beginning to detach from the sleeve but It's completely different from any that are sold now. There's a signature and its dated December 1926 but the dictionary was published in 1927. So I'm not sure if it's a first edition or what. Does anyone know anything about who this person was and what role he played in the company.
