Steam Calliope on The Delta Queen 45 record

Profile picture for user Lovejoy

Accurate Description of Item
Steam Calliope on The Delta Queen 45 record
Appraiser Remarks
The instrument on the Delta Queen has a very long and convoluted history that can be seen here... http://tomcawvel.com/calliope/research/dqcal.htm .

The Delta Queen and Delta King were launched on May 20, 1927 from the C.N. & L. shipyard in Stockton, California. The Delta Queen began service between San Francisco and Sacramento on a schedule that let the King or Queen leave San Francisco for Sacramento and pass her sister traveling the other way. Each boat left at six in the evening and arrived at six in the morning and returned the next day. Both ships served during World War Two.

As for the recording itself, it has no great value as a Collectible, but would be of interest to Collectors of Mechanical Music machines , such as Calliopes, player pianos and music boxes.,
Estimated Value
$15.00- $25.00
