The Roos company was in business from 1916 - 1951, operating in Forest Park Illinois. The company produced these chests in all the popular styles from Colonial to Art Deco.  Most furniture in this style was produced during the mid 1920's until World War II. Values vary considerably for these chests, depending on quality of construction, wood type and how close they follow original period designs.

I received a hope chest after my grandmothers passing. On the inside of the lid it has a round seal w/ Roos Chest sealtite Lid patented Forest park Ill." on it There is a bag inside says " No Moth Cedar Bag West Branch Novelty Company Milton Pa maker of cedar chests".. On the outer bottom of the chest there is a sticker with "Ed Roos Com. serial # 21279.. On the wood is stamped R.B. Wall Com. Wilkesbarre Pa... Not quite sure why everything is different. Can someone maybe shed some light on it all... TY.. Missy
