I was recently given a set of 6 loevly tea cups and am looking to learn more about them they are white with a silver rim and handle. james japan is painted in gold on the bottom of the cups.
I came across a book from 1940 called Darkroom Handbook and Formulary, by Morris Germain, A.R.P.S., and in the back is a photo of a cat taped inside that was taken in November of 1941 by someone named Matthew E. Hopkins. It is black and white and with age, I assume, as acquired a slight sepia tone, but it also has a pearlescent/metallic reflection if the photograph faces any light source whatsoever. From what research I have done - and I know VERY little about film photography - it SEEMS to have undergone a "gelatin silver process". The size of the image is roughly 3.5" X 4.25", which seems unusual to me. Any help with what it is that I have in my possession would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
This doll is a limited edition with certificate of authenticity. the doll name is Daisy. It also hace the certified signature as well. it says it is 1 of 5000 pieces. on the box it does hace 503-a but i don't know if that has anything do with the doll. the doll inside is an indian child laying down in a basket made from animal skin. I've had this for many years, has never been touched always in the closet.

I have an antique pickle castor/ jar that I would like to determine it's worth. It is 10" tall from base to top of handle, 4" in diameter at the base. It includes the holder, the jar (seems to be perfect condition, no chips, cracks, etc.), the tongs, and the lid.
The lid has 3 metal daisies and some leaves on the top. Inside the lid states "Middletown Plate Co. Quadruple Plate" with the number 172 stamped/etched. and "Hard White Metal".
The bottom of the holder is "James W. Tufts Boston Warranted, Quadruple Plate" with the number 3603. Above this stamp is in what looks to be handwriting in the metal the number 184.
