Gold Crown Store Fenton Special Edition

Category
Glass
Condition
Mint
Description

An extraordinary piece of Fenton Glass. As detailed in the enclosed note, these limited-edition vases were only made available to Gold Crown Store Owners. "250 stores in the US had the opportunity to purchase this particular vase. 1,000 vases were made."

This vase is #103, signed and numbered. It was purchased at a fundraising auction approximately 30 years ago and has never been used.

It's a beautiful piece of work and certainly an ideal addition to any collection. The vase includes the original box, display tag, and as noted, a handwritten note from the then-owner of the Gold Crown Store in Rushville, Indiana. The store has recently closed.

Silver Papal Medal/Spoon minted 1575-1581 Pope Gregory XIII Rare

Category
Coins and Currency
Condition
Good
Description

Pope Gregory XIII silver medal minted between 1575 through 1580, later repurposed in the 18th century to be given as gift for baptisms and christenings. Depicts the Apostle Peter atop the handle. Front of the medal depicts Pope Gregory XIII with coat of arms. On obverse depicts Peter receiving the key from Jesus. I was able to find one example of this exact medal/coin in Stanford University's Museum. However, the one they have on display is not comparable. They have question marks where some letters are missing. Mine has all the letters.
