I purchased a watercolor that is sign Luigi Chialiva in the lower left corner. The showing picture is 20.5" x 14.5". Framed it is 35.5" x29.5 ". Above the signature is what I presume to be the name of the picture in Italian but I can't read it.
The back is 3 wood panels with old nails.
The picture is a woman knitting standing with a flock of sheep in a field.
I love this painting and want to get it cleaned and reframed but don't know if I should bring it to a regular frame shop or a place that specializes in antique restoration.
The desk is made of beautiful varnished wood, with many drawers. The legs are finely carved with metal wheels at the bottom. Each drawer is held together with dovetail joints, and the bronze hardware settings on the drawer locks all have a "Spegelstein - Made in U.K." mark on the top (see photos). It has 3 large drawers with hinged handles (all of which have key holes) and 8 smaller drawers with button-like knobs. The raised back-board of the desk also includes 3 narrow cubby-holes on each side. The desktop surface has a well-worn leather pad in the middle with a decorative gold embosed pattern around the edge.
My grandmother gave me two vases that she thinks are of value. I was wondering if anyone would be able to appraise them. The vases are about 6 inches hich with a 3 square inch base. Raised on pedastools, two busts on each vase and a removable lid. There are no markings on the vase however. Would you at least be able to give me some information? Thanks so much!Kind Regards, Yesim
I am writing to you about some Noritake china that my 97 year old father has. He has asked me to find someone to buy it. He lives in St James City Florida, I live in Northern Maine. Here is some information for the china:
Pattern: Linton by Noritake
Pattern #: 7552
Description: cream body, gold line & verge, gold trim
Covered casserole 1 Oval serving bowl 2 Small platter 1 Large platter 1 Gravy boat 1 Sugar bowl 1 Creamer 1 Salt and pepper shakers 1 of each.
All of this is in unused condition.
I have perhaps not listed quite all that he has, but this will give you an idea. I have also attached photos that I took when I was in Florida in December.
I would appreciate it if you might give me some idea of what this china is worth, and if you, or any one else may be interested in buying it.
