I am trying to find more information on a vintage horse saddle and 2 pairs of vintage cowboy chaps. I am going to be selling these for a friend but neither of us know anything about horses or western riding goods. Saddle has stamp saying C.P. Shipley Kansas City and one pair of chaps has E. C. Irick. They look very old to me but that's all I know!! I live in Santa Barbara, CA, not sure if that helps.
This 18in. X 16in. drawing was done by Gina Janss, an aviator and Hollywoord singer, actress and socialite, appearing in "Slattery's Hurricane" with Richard Widmark in 1948. Gina was the granddaughter of Harold Janss, developer of Westwood Village, CA (Janss Steps at UCLA are also named after the family). The piece was given as a gift to Christy Fox Shonnard, the beloved social columnist for the LA Times.
My mother was given this statue in 1940 but we are assuming it was created prior to that. Her neighbor gave it to her when she was a child. It has no engravings or signatures on it and we do not know the type of wood or anything about it. The person who gave it to her said it was valuable. They were living in Chelsea, MA at the time.
The statue is 22" tall and i have attached pictures for you.
