Cast iron ball

Category
Other
Condition
Fair
Description

Found this while hiking along a river bed after hurricane Sandy. Oringinally I thought I had found a cannonball. Weighs 15 pounds, no markings that I can find. Has a hex neck with an attachment with a hole for a cable, rope, or rod?

Just looking to find out what it is, some sort of counterweight?

hoover chair co. dining chairs

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

5 chairs. 2 with arms and 3 that are armless. all chairs have the tags intact and in good condition.

The Hoover Chair Company manufactured furniture from its headquarters in Lexington, North Carolina throughout the twentieth century. The company went out of business in 1968, and its manufacturing facility was later gutted by a fire in 1972. The manufacturing facility had been purchased by the Burlington House Furniture Company.

are these a great piece of Americana from a company that no longer exists?

good condition, not much grime or dirt and slightly loose arm on the one of the chairs.

Make sure that when u email me, u include a valid email address that i can reply back to u. people have messaged me and asked questions without leaving a way to reply.

Asian Jar

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Condition
Excellent
Description

This Jar is  approx 6" tall and 4" max wide. it does not appear to be hand made, but does appear to be hand painted. I do not know anything about it, I was a remodel carpenter and I dug it out of a dumpster. I liked it so I brought it home and it has been sitting on a shelf for about 5 years. there are no markings on the bottom, there are some markings on the inside of the lid, and on the top of the jar. it also looks to be painted with some gold paint. there is a small chip in the lid on the rim.

Philco Radio Model 95

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

This cabinet radio has been in my family for over 50 years.  It worked years ago but I haven't plugged it in in quite sometime.  It has scroll work on both sides and the doors open and close to reveal the speaker screen  and knobs.

Commemorative plate

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Fair
Description

This cast aluminum plate reads 'United States Of America 1776-1976' '200 years of progress' on one side and 'Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Co. 1906-1976' '70 years of progress' 'Kellog Company' on the other. Through the center it reads 'Sharing in Progress' Kellog CO. O' 'We Salute..yes yesterdays epic spirit'. I've scoured the internet and can barely find mention of it, no walues, no pictures, and no explanations. The plate is fairly crudely made and its not signed, stamped or marked in any way that I can see. Any help would be apreciated, thanks, Eric.
