Purchased this heavy wooden, hand carved chair as a project...originally intended to try to restore myself.
however after some internet research, seems this might be something i leave to the pro's...its hand built and carved, the carvings are all floral. the cushion is stuffed with feathers and was originally deep royal blue (can be seen under the cushion).
In need some advice on type, period and estimated value...need to know if it's 'worth' sending to a professional to restore or to the local upholstry shop.
I bought this cream coloured rose bowl about 10 years ago from a school fair for 10p! I had it appraised by an English antique magazine back then and it was worth £30.
I would like to know if it has kept its value, increased or decreased please?
It is quite large, I believe it would have originally had a wire mesh for roses over it but sadly I do not have that.
It is of a very smooth texture. No chips or cracks. Slight dark marks on outer but may be able to be removed.
My step mother gave me this teaset quite some years ago and it has been sitting in my attic in a shoe box doing nothing.
I believe it is from the 1960s made by PALLISY. The design is GAYDAY.
Im not sure if I have the full set as I have a teapot with lid, 2 teacups with saucers, A butter dish with lid, a side or cake plate (not sure), A sugar bowl with lid and 2 cups (bowls) whic I think are tea cups also.
Slight crazing but no chips or cracks. Very usable.
Ive seen only the butter dish online on sale for £22 so I would like to know how much the whole set would be worth for insurance reasons, if needed but would prefer to sell as I would never use it and never have.
