There is an engraving on the left side of the blade (with the sharp edge facing you) it says: EN MI PUNTA RELUCIENTE SE ENSARTA CUALQUIER VALIENTE
On the right side of the blade (with the sharp edge facing you) there is an indian head with a large headpiece that looks like it is made from feathers with smaller feathers on the bottom and increasing in side as the feathers go upward. There are also many native designs on this side.
This set was given to me as a gift from my aunt. It came out of my grandmother's collection which may have come from her mother. It may be just cut glass but was hoping the age of the pieces would increase its value. I would like to list it with Ebay or with a consignment shop but wanted a reasonable idea of what it is worth.
This was found at an antique shop, I really have no desire to have it any more. I'm not into Nazi stuff or war collectibles. I am hoping to find out if its even a real antique and to just get rid of it for a decent price. It is completely covered in rust, there doesn't appear to be anything on the back of it
This pair of candle holders belonged to the Schneider/Schaeffer family of Alsbach Germany. Herr Schnieder was a financial minister under Kaiser Wilhelm and Herr Schaeffer (his son-in-law) was a railway minister under the Weimar Republic and Hitler. They belonged to both families, and can be dated as such.
