Framed and matted lithograph inscribed "Anne Boleyn Femme de Henri VIII Roi d' Angleterre d apres Holbein 1536" (Anne Boelyn Queen of Henry VIII, King of England, after Holbein 1536).
These pieces I found in my attic when I purchased this house. They are in mint condition. They all are of a silver color with bright blues and greens. The entire set includes a ashtray, coffee urn, creamer and sugar bowl.
This steamer trunk has a dome top, circa 1856, was a steal at $45 at a local garage sale. According to the seller, the trunk started it's trip at France came all the way over to America and landed at New England. From there, it ended up in Portland as a gift from great aunt to nephew. The reason behind selling this piece was simply stated as " We are trying to down size". All of the metal pieces are intact, the leather straps (making this a traveling trunk) are intact. There is no key to the lock, and the original tanned leather with floral print is untouched and in good condition. Has not been refinished, as I am hesitant to devalue the price.
If anyone can help identify the hallmark (last picture) to help identify who made the trunk, that would be greatly appreciated.
I found this document with a lot of old papers stored in Mrs.Doris williams basement. She grew up in Boloxi miss.and often talked about her dad working on the "virgil"..Im not sure if the boat was a shimp or an oyster boat,You can read some of the document in the pics that I have enclosed..It has two seams where it has been folded since it has been stored..The paper is in good condition(not britle),and has sort of a pinkish color..
