I was reading a book "Bottle Makers and their Marks" The author claimed to be a durkee bottle collector and that Durkee never made a cork bottle. Well here it is!
The dinner plates are about 8 inches in diameter. the stamp on the back says Royal Blue Ironstone Enoch Wedgewood (Tunstall) LTD with a picture of a unicorn. Under the unicorn is England Trade mark Founded in 1835. There is also a symbol on the plate that resembles a cursive S. The plates are trimmed with silver around the edges and has beautiful blue flowers in the center.
Here is a very unsual Nippon Vase both with the Hallmark and the Hand painted Scene.
Measures 4 1/2" high by 4 1/2" wide at it's widest point.
Unusual scene of Cats? or Dogs? chasing a Mouse? or Dogs chasing a Cat?
The hallmark in blue shows: Hand Painted and below this is an upside down beehive shape Crest with a cross banner with the following: Royal TOA and below this is the word NIPPON.
Have never seen this mark before nor this type of scene.
All I know is the seller says it's a "Boos cedar chest. Still has the original tags from the sales floor in 1937". I think it my be ROOS Instead of Boos. Here are some pictures of it.
