Found this sword in our backyard 2 days ago. Took to local collector thinking it was Civil War era. He says that it is possibly from Revolutionary War, but used here during the Seminole War.
Small 7inch decorative pitcher. Dark blue pebbled-appearing background with 3-dimensional vines, probably grape leaves and berries or grapes swirled all over pitcher. The vines originate from the top of the handle, the handle appears to be 4 main vines that attach to the body of the pitcher - where the vines swirl out onto the body of the pitcher and become leafed. There are 2 birds in the same white 3-D motif, one on each side, both standing on a vie - one with a long neck and long legs and the other with a shorter neck. they are eating the berries/grapes. There is a raised diamond shape with a big R in the center - an S at the top a 2 at the bottom and maybe a 17 at the side. There is a little circle at the top of the diamond with IV in it and there is 187 etched into the bottom of the piece.
