It's a Picture of "Whistler's Mother". It looks just like the ones in the art books. She has the rosey cheeks just like in the picture. There is a poem written below the picure on seperate matting that frames the picture. The poem is titled "What More Can You Say to Your Mother". The picture has areas on it that resemble smoke damage or water damage but it hasn't damaged the picture or poem. I am able to remove the picture from the frame. Its not attached to the glass of the frame. On the back of the picture is a Friday, Aug 17,1917 Toledo, Ohio news paper with a sports page. It looks as though there was a signature on the bottom rt side, but they apparently cut it off to make the picture fit the frame because all there is is the top od a letter there. I bought the picture for $16. at a farm auction in Minot, N.Dak in 1996. I am trying to put the picture on but I don't know how to do it. As soon as I can get it on there, I will add it to this Thank you for your time. Vicki
footed salt dish, detailed sculpted feet with angel's heads/faces atop, May 13 carved in one third of outer top rim, 1879 carved into another third and the letter R in the last third portion. Small silver spoon accompanies piece.
these lamps were bought in 1955 from a man who brought them to Canada from Germany. On the underside of the lamp, there is a marking which says "Italy 1892"
The design on each lamp is a floral with main colours being in a soft blue at base, ornate white handles trimmed with gold, and soft rose and yellow on the borders.
There is a very small chip on one of the lamps at the back near the neck.
