This was owned by a life-long bachelor who collected all sorts of fun items until he finally married for a brief period. His wife died suddenly and he went back to bachelorhood. We suspect that this was probably purchased by the happy couple due to its delicate and feminine nature while everything else he owned was quite masculine. Unfortunately we have no idea of dates or other family history. Even Replacements.com came up empty handed when asked so if you can help us out you're a lot more informed than even the leaders in the china industry. Thank you in advance for your help!
circa 1920-30's walnut dining table and 4 armless chairs. veneer and solid wood on both table and chairs. two types/colors of wood on chairs. carving on both table and chairs. ball legs and feet with carving throughout. very victorian, intricate design. brass fittings on self contained leaf extension, which measures 12". table measures 72" X 40" with leaf open. base of table connected with wood carved base. see pics. trying to id and price this set. thanks for any help possibleÂ

Plate half green half beige with pink flowers and gold trim
Instrument appears to be hand made, the slide is copper with what may be tin as the shoes at the bottom. The Fkey is opperated with a finger rather than a thumb as on modern models. The laquer was a later addition. There is one part of the tuning slide (which is on the slide itself) that is missing. Themarkings read:
F.A. Heckel
K L Hof = Instrumentenmacher
Dresden
The symbol that appears above F.A. Heckel is not a makers mark for this company and does not appear on any other Heckel Trombones (bass or otherwise)that I have been able to find. "K. Hof" is not a name but stands for "Königlich Hof" denoting Royal Court attribution. This would date the instrument as post 1889.

Hi all...
Â
This set I purchased tonight. Present seller thought it was from th 1940's. Not sure though. The wood is excellent all the way around. NO marring, dents, scratches on any of the wood. These are tufted, and every button is tight, present and secure. Upholstery is a little dirty, as it is a light color.. but no holes in it. There is a slight curve around the back sides of the couch and seat. Very attractive, and wood has a patina that could match 50 plus years of use.
Â
Sofa is 7ftx34"x34"
Loveseat is 56"x34"x34"
Â
I like the character of the items.Â
Â
Also wondering what is a fair price for something like this set? I paid a total of $350 for both
Â
Thank you
