I inherited a tea set from my grandfather. I believe it was bought while oversea in the area of Japan during the 40's or 50's. The porcelain is almost see through. The painting on each piece seems to be mostly in gold. Nothing else known.
Family lore has always claimed that this is a Zeigler Mahal. The rug is 100"X 149" and has approximately 100 knots per inch.
This is a stunning antique large size rug. It is in excellent shape. There is one area of obvious wear (See the last picture). There are 150 knots per inch and the weave is tight. There are no holes anywhere. It has been professionally cleaned and the colors are vibrant and clear.
Like most rugs claiming to be a true Zeigler Mahal , there is no documentation to support that claim. There is family history. This rug has been in the same family as far back as the early 1900’s. It was part of an estate in Indiana that was comprised of many fine antiques and oil paintings. The family is now offering it for sale
