Lamp #1 is a Woman with a marketĀ basket on her shoulder walking withĀ a child.Ā It has a signature, possiblyĀ by Auguste Moreau and has a Collection Connoisseur stamp.Ā When I removed the circular felt bottom pad, I can see that the metal is silver in color and in black marker is written C. L. G. /6.60
Lamp #2 is a Woman at a well holding a chicken.Ā It is signed by Henri Ple, has a Collection Connoisseur stamp AND a JBH stamp.
Ā I have attachedĀ photos of these lamps.
Ā I just found Item number: 290119437837 on EBay that looks surprisingly similar.Ā My lamps are gold painted clothing and ivory paint for skin.Ā We rewired one and changed the lampshades.Ā Could you tell me if what I am guessing is correct--that they are French Spelter lamps from c1900?Ā What are they worth?Ā Thank you.
The gold leaves are all applied & raised. There is the same pattern of leaves & flowers on the reverse side. I would also like to know the value of this item if possible.
The dresser was purchased by my mother and father while we lived in Philadelphia in 1950. My father was an executive with General Motors and my mother collected antiques that filled our home.
