I received this free from Zangâs wife in 2006. I bought a piece of furniture from her, and this was in her basement. She said I could take it if I wanted it. Didnât even realize who it was until researching this.
I am trying to find the value for a 1920âs childâs oak roll top desk and chair. I have refinished it to golden oak color, sealed with shellac and repaired the broken tambour using tambour tape and tambour glue. I am not sure if the chair is original to the set or not. There is also a crack in the very top of the piece.
I am also interested in the value of a childâs spool rocker from the 1920âs. The rocker has been hand sanded and restore a finish has been applied followed by feed and wax. The seat and back fabric are also new to the piece. There is some previous insect damage to the bottom of one of the runners but doesnât appear to impact structure or performance.
The building I used to work at has been there since the late â50s. Nobody knows anything about this painting or how old it was. They didnât want it anymore so I gave it a home. Itâs signed âLee Reynoldsâ and the back is numbered #138756(?). It has lots of texture and is about 4ft x 3ft.
Iâve read about a Reynolds creating an âaffordable artâ studio in California around the 1950âs. Thatâs about all I know. Would appreciate any insight.
