On one side it has Thatcher's Dairy Bottle Patent 1884 One Quart. On the other side it has ABSOLUTELY PURE MILK with picture of a cow. On the bottom it says, Crownford China Co. 1965. With a big C in middle with a circle around it.Bottle made in Italy. Lid is wire with rubber seal and plastic lid.
Appears to be hand carved, edges are uneven.
Very smooth texture. Metal rim is glued on. Some glue has ran down the inside of the jar. Glue appears to be a dark yellow color, and very thick. Hole where spout is appears to be drilled or carved out, edges are rough. No markings. Looks similar to Japanese Saki Sets, but I have not been able to find any this nice, or with a handle on the pitcher.
THESE ARE BASKETS THAT BELONG TO MY GRANDMOTHER, I KNOW THEM TO BE AT LEAST FORTY YEARS OLD. HOWEVER, I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY CAME FROM OR WHO MADE THEM. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION FOR ME PLEASE EMAIL ME AT [email protected]
This piece of furniture is made with tongue and groove joinery. It has not been glued. Apparently, it is designed so that it can be taken apart and put back together. There are numerous flaws, broken pieces, scratches, etc. But it can be assembled as shown in the photograph.
