Lewis Evans is a watercolour artist from Hawke's Bay, NZ, who is listed as being active from 1915-41 (though there appear to be works from 1910-45). There were exhibitions of his works in 2020 and 2021 at MTG Hawke's Bay (mtghawkesbay.com). The gallery has both donated and purchased works of his.
I have acquired two early pieces dated 1913 (pond scene) and 1914 (bay scene). There was an earthquake in 1922 which changed the landscape which makes the works more of interest. There is a tear at the top of the 1914 piece which could be restored.
I am based in the UK and have no idea how the items arrived here. I could try to find out but haven't yet tried to.
I bought this HUGE Mickey Mouse plush in the early 90's in Orlando in the Orlando Sentinel [newspaper] classified. He is 6 feet tall and heavy. He is stuffed with jute I believe? He is pie eyed (notch in the pupil) So that tells me it was made before 1940 or made to look that way. The stitching is irregular so that tells me it was had sewn/hand assembled. The head is droopy so I have a 2x4 propping it up. Any idea what the history on this is?
Found two old chairs and took them from garbage. No marks, no manufacturer's name. Chairs are very sturdy, wooden, inside is a hay or something like that. Would like to know how old these chairs are and if they worth anything, please help.
Please can you value this antique oak sideboard. I believe it is Spanish. It comes in two pieces, the top part which sits on the legs. The dimensions are 2m wide x 1.41m tall x 0.60m deep.
Unsure if it’s actually old or an antique or just a replica made.
White bottle/jug with bull and mouth logo 1731. On the other side it’s got a Ye Old coat of arms with dragon. On the bottom of the bottle there is no stamps.
I am not sure of the age or country - American or Italian - I'm guessing
