Small, delicate dish (spoon rest?) with a pink floral pattern. Handed down 3 at least 3 generations that I know of. Perfect condition with no chips. There is one small imperfection that looks like it is part of the porcelain.
I obtained this hand crank sewing machine five or six years ago in England at a small town auction. The serial number is V443727 which would date it to 1908 from what I have been able to find. Also, it was manufactured at the Singer Clydebank Scotland manufacturing facility.
The case seems to be unique and I haven’t been able to find one similar in my research. It almost resembles a “coffin” and has handles on both ends. The case lid hinges on one end, and the other is secured with a key to the base for transportation. The case is in very good condition for its age, with some minor scrapes and scratches from wear. The sewing machine also appears to be in very good shape. There is some wear around the decals in one spot at the front and left side, but not as much as I would expect. The hand-crank handle hinges folds in to fit in the case
Can anyone provide any details on the case and any estimation of value? We are downsizing and we must part with our collections.
This is a personal sketchbook by German artist Wilhelm M Busch. It is a clothbound hardback book with over 70 sketches. Most are of people with few trees, landscapes, houses, etc. One sketch looks to be Abraham Lincoln but I'm not sure. All appear to be original sketches. It was given as a gift in 1943 as evidenced by the inscription in the picture. All pages are intact and binding is tight on the book. The artists signature is on the front cover and appears to be in ink and the signature also appears on the inside top left corner of the first page. No tears or damage noted.
This is one example of 4 different designs of enameled metal sculptures purchased in Mexico ca. 1960 as favors for a dinner party given by a wealthy business tycoon in Phoenix AZ. The other sculpture are of similar design depicting a boy on a bicycle. etc.
