I have this table that is wooden, formica top and metal trim. The formica was in really bad shape and was peeling. When I started removing the formica I discovered that the table top was wooden slats not plywood.
Suddenly I am very concerned that I have really made a mistake by removing the formica and stripping all the paint. I know nothing about the table and would like an idea of how old it is and if painting it would be a mistake?
I found this in my grandmother's room many years ago. She may have found it at a tag sale because we are not Polish and she, like myself collected wooden boxes.
I am looking for the value of it for a possible sale depending on what it's worth.
I believe this is a Satsuma vase, but am unsure. Markings are lacking. 11 3/4" tall. Raised golden details as well as white detail. Handles are birds, perhaps peacocks. Desire to know if this is real, age and any value.
This wooden round table has four legs, not pedestal. My husband traded a couple for it a few years ago, and I believe they lamented parting with it because they had brought it over from England. It has intersecting wood pieces underneath (idk what that is called) and little shelf-like spots underneath the top.
