This service for 12, including the service pieces, are in the original box. My Grandmother kept excellent care of the silver, only using it on special occasions. There are hardly any scratches on the pieces. The felt in the box is also in great condition.
Over 10 years ago, I inherited these chairs from my aunt, who decades earlier inherited them from her aunt. The tag under the cushions indicates that they are stuffed with hors/hogs hair. I believe they have been reupholstered.
I am curious about the following: the kind of wood, the time period during which they were manufactured, any interesting facts about them, what they are called (tub chair, vanity chair, etc) and an approximate value. I would like to pass them on to genereations to come with a full history to accompany them. Thank you.
I know little about this item. It does not appear to be a photograph, but rather a print (I'm no expert, though). It is very old and in fair condition considering its age. The frame is all wooden and the backing is held on by small nails.
