I guess that the wood is imbuia (not 100% sure) but the piece is very heavy. The chest has 6 drawers, the top one with a lock (the key to which has long ago disappered). The handles look like brass. The front is carved and bow shaped and the feet are also carved. Above the feet there is a carved "Skirt". The sides are made of a much thinner wood (feels like stained plywood). There are no manufacturer's marks anywhere.

I bought this at a thrift store for .50 cents. Great detail in this work. Number and signature on the bottom. Made in Italy.
