Excel Manufacturing Co with Watertown Slide Large Table

Category
Furniture
Description

We got this table from my husband's grandparents estate. We have the table, 6 chairs and a matching hutch. I found the name "Excel Manufacturing Co" on the underside of the table  and the name "The Watertown Slide" on the sliding mechanism. I am trying to find another table with this pattern and/or manufactured by Excel to determin the value.

The table measures 55" round when closed. Each leaf is approx 11 1/8" wide ... and there are 4 of them - giving it an approx length of 100" with all four.

The matching hutch measures approx 71" tall, 18" deep and 45" wide. It has 2 drawers on the bottom and glass with 3 removeable shelves on top. It is all one piece.

** These items, including the chairs ... have the distinct design of almost a flower or floral pattern - see pics

I am trying to get a date and estimated price. The chairs are in poor condition - so I am mainly interested in the value of the table and hutch.  There are 2 other matching buffet-style pieces that are being kept in the famly at this point.

Any info is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!!!

Asian Silver condiment spoon

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Description

found this item in a box of stuff at an auction.  there was a bunch of high dollar political memorabilia so it led me to believe that the previous owner must have valued this item.

it is a silver spoon.  not sure if plated or solid.  very small maybe 2 inches in length.  I have been told that it is a salt or condiment spoon.

the writing on it is asian in nature, not sure if chinese or japanese.  there is an inscription on the back at near the top of the handle and some characters and a square in the ladle itself.

I am not sure what I have here or how old it is.  I cannot find any like it on the interwebs.

any help would be appreciated

Barclays Bank LTD Horley 1927 Checkbook

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Good
Description

In 1996 I purchased what appears to be a Barclays Bank Limited checkbook with entries from 1927 on six check stubs, as well as 5 blank 'cheques'.  At the time, I worked for Barclays Bank in Charlotte, NC and thought it an interesting item when I found it in the Antique Store.
Ran across the item in storage and thought I would check into any collectible value for the item.   Thank you for any information you may be able to provide.

1975 Hans Skalagard oil painting of The Golden Hind and the Golden Gate Bridge

Category
Fine Art
Condition
Excellent
Description

I have a 16x20 oil painting named The Golden Hind by Hans Skalagard. It was painted in 1975. It is unique because there is a ship called the Golden Hind with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Both were from totally different eras. The ship was sailed by Sir Francis Drake in the late 1500s and the Golden Gate wasnt built until the early 1900s. I have seen many pieces by this artist that were either ocean scenes or of old ships but I havent seen anything by him that includes a famous landmark like the Golden Gate. The Artist is still alive at 90 years old and he lives in Petaluma CA. I have had this painting for over 15 years and have kept it stored in a box. It has a lemon sized impression on it. I was told that its an easy repair. Its still in its original packing material and has never been displayed. I can see some paint strokes on the canvas and smudge marks from the artists hands on the back.
