Two monks in a tree

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Fair
Description

Here is a picture of two monks under a tree. I guess they are monks. Unfortunately the top of the tree has a broken branch. It was broken before I got it. Someone tried to glue it back and then the branch finally broke off. The base needs to be handled with care because it is not fully connected, but that is because it was carved in such a way. One of the guys is holding a bird in his hand. There are a few small knicks in the statue. I am just wondering if anyone knows the history on this or what it really is?

Atget Photographe de Paris

Category
Books and Manuscripts
Condition
Excellent
Description

The title of the book is Atget Photographe de Paris published by E. Weyhe, New York City and printed in France and I believe it is a first edition. The text is in french and it contains a collection of Eugene Atget photography (Also contains several pictures by Berenice Abbott). He was a famous photographer born in 1856 and well known for his photography of Paris. When he died in 1927 Berenice Abbott purchased his remaining pictures and began to promote his work. This was the first of the books that she put together. The copy of the book I have also contains a dated signature by Berenice Abbott.

(From the internet, but looks just like the copy I have)

Pottery bottle or vase, Danmark

Category
Pottery
Condition
Mint
Description

This bottle is handcrafted. The sides are hand-cut to give it an octagon shape. The glaze is a mottled dark gray with a light grey showing underneath. There is slight wear through the bottom glaze. There is a stamped mark on the bottom of this bottle JORGEN*, HANSEN, DANMARK. The stamped mark it too lightly impressed on the right sides of the word JORGEN... so I can't tell if there are more letters in thath name. In my research I found out there were potters in Denmark by the names FREDERIK JORGENSEN and KARL HANSEN, formerly of Herman A Kahler pottery factory, that went to work for a new pottery factory called DANICO. Do you think this pottery bottle could have been made by these potters? Perhaps after working for DANICO? If so, would I be accurate in thinking this bottle could be 1930 era? This bottle is in perfect condition.

Convair Elkhart, Ind. Trombone (SN: 237753)

Category
Music and Music Instruments
Condition
Fair
Description

Got this at an antique store in the early to mid 1990s as I needed a trombone to play in school. Wasn't in great shape when I got it but was certainly playable and served it's purpose for several years after that. Now that I'm sure I'll no longer play it, I was looking to sell it but cannot for the life of me find any information on a company or model called Convair. I was thinking it might be made by Conn which would place it in 1929 but I can't find any info on them making a model called Convair.

The markings are on the bell with "Convair" in larger letters above "Elkhart, Ind."

The serial number matches on both parts of the slide and is 237753.

I can't seem to find any information on this instrument and any thing you all can give me would be much appreciated including a general price of how much I should be looking to sell it for given that it's in fair to somewhat poor condition (I'm just guessing at this, I don't really have much experience to base it on but it's got a good amount of varnish missing and has a couple dings in the bell, still fine to play though.)

The site isn't allowing me to upload photos right now but if they would be helpful in determining the trombone's history and value, I can work some more on it.
