Hello! Does anyone know anything about this bisque I just bought? Who made it and when? How to clean it? I’ve tried a damp q-tip and it did almost nothing. Also did I pay too much or get a bargain and will reframing affect its value? Thanks so very much!
Vintage Post-Modern set of two (2) 'Canasta' armchairs, in stitched thick saddle-leather mounted on enameled tubular steel frames. Notice how the seats defy gravity with no vertical connections to the back or the ground.
I found a box of silver plate pieces. One is sort of creamer pot I guess and has “Middletown Plate Co 1203 hard white metal” stamped on the bottom. Other than a bit tarnished, it’s in very good condition. Is there any value to this?
We have an antique Admiral Standing Freezer that we estimate dates back to the mid 1950's. Freezer stands roughly 48" tall and is relatively clean for it's age. Has been sitting in a garage for several years, but does work when plugged in. Cord is frayed and will need replacing, but all other parts seem to be in working order. Curious on the value.
Decorative round geometric top, 4 fairly long legs seems to me make of very sturdy wood there is a brass pipe piece on the bottom of the top that slides into a coperr fixture in the center of the base leaving it free to spin.
I'm not actually sure if this falls into the correct category, I simply chose antiques as the brass rubbings have been passed down to me through a couple generations.
I'm uploading a picture of the one; it is a matching set of 2, equal in size an style of design.
Just curious to learn more about them and perhaps their age, as I haven't got the story behind how they came to be passed along to me.
The one I'm postings is of a very tall, slim nun, hands together in prayer, standing upon what appears to be some sort of ornate lion or mythological creature.
If anyone can share info/insight into when/where this design came from (i have to assume Great Britain?), I can post a picture of the other one.
That one is of a knight in full armour, very similar, though I believe rather than prayer hands, he holds a sword by the hilt, pointed down. He stands upon a unicorn, if I recall correctly. It comes out of storage tomorrow, so I figured I'd look into them a bit more.
34 inches wide by 36 inches tall. Double sided master butcher wood signage. Found at estate sale in Beaverton, Oregon. Paint is very chippy has carved figure in the middle of a butcher, and a red and white striped apron with a large cleaver in his hand, appearing to point to the direction of where possibly the butcher shop was.
