Japanese Komai style bowl

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Good
Description

A japanese bowl decorated with various scenic motifs, the bottom is enscribed " Presented by Vice Admiral Hyakutake 1933". The bowl measures 3 1/4 inches high, 7 1/4 inches wide and the depth is 3 inches.  I cannot tell if the metal is gold, bronze or copper.  A magnet is not attracted. Gengo Hyakutake was a career officer in the Imperial Japanese Navy and this bowl was presented to the governor of California.  It has been in the family for 80 years.  I do not know if the age of the bowl is consistant with the enscribed date on the bottom or not. I also cannot determine if the symbol that looks like a mountain on back is a makers' mark.

Copper plated wall plaque

Category
Metalware
Condition
Excellent
Description

Large, heavy, solid copper-plated wall plaque, measuring 120cmx43cm and weighing 15kg. The relief scene depicts a horse drawn log cart, with a gentleman resting beneath a tree with what appears to be a saint/Madonna shrine on the tree trunk. The scene appears to be of Germanic origin, possibly dating from 1920's onwards, as the cart appears to have pneumatic tyres.

There doesn't appear to be a maker's or artist's name anywhere on the plaque.
