If it's electric it does not date from the 1880's, it looks very much like a reproduction in the images.

Unique and heavy brass based table lamp believed to be from the late 1800s and in excellent condition...

Two white frosted globes, each of which has three (3) raised relief "faces" and the upper one holds a light bulb.

Lamp stands 19" in height, 10" in diameter and has no markings that I can find.  I've not found ANYTHING on the Internet even remotely similar to this piece so it's pretty unique.
