Description
I have a copy of a 1937 Mein Kampf written in German.
Attached are five photos
The first photo is the dust cover jacket which has Jubilaumsausgabe (at the top) and Gefamtauflage 3 millionen Expl. (in the bottom right corner)
The fifth photo is a hand written inscription in German.
I have not been able to find one like this anywhere after searching for many hours on the internet.
Would you please share any information about this particular copy?
Is it rare?
What the value is if sold to a private buyer and/or at auction?
What does the handwritten inscription mean in English?
Does the inscription have any historical significance and does it add or subtract from the value?
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Rick Clark
Re: 1937 Mein Kampf
It's one of the most common editions of Mein Kampf. The reason you cant find it online is because this one has the original dust jacket for this particular printing, which was usually removed and thrown away. 3 million on the dust jacket is the amount of copies sold, like oprah’s book of the month club cheap paperback. The inscription is a personal inscription of a gift from a friend to a friend, no historic value per se but still neat. Worth around $100 retail.
