1953 Drexel "Precedent" by Ed Wormley Dining Room Suite

By carytoddbufford, 29 October, 2011
Description

I am selling a 1953 Precedent by Drexel Dining Room Suite designed by Edward Wormley. I am believed to be the second owner of this Dining Set. The set includes the Credenza, Gatefold leg drop leaf table that seats 6 and includes 3 extra leaves ( have never seen another Precedent table like it that has gatefold legs) and lighted China Cabinet. The set is still in its original state. It has very minimal wear, which is on the table top surface. I also have the custom fit vinyl padded table top cover. The Credenza still has the original lining in the top two drawers for silver and also have the original matching polishing cloth. The China Cabinet and Credenza have brass handles and accents. The furniture is stucturally sound with no cracks, no water damage or discoloring. This was made back when furniture was constructed of real hard woods, not the chipboard stull like is found now. I hate to part with the set but its just too much furniture for for a single person. I have been told by a few people that the wood type is Bleached Mahogany. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to email me or text me (765)354-8137. I am asking $1200.00 for the set or best reasonable offer. However I do know what this set is worth and will not be low balled. I am not looking to trade only to sell. I also going to include my very extensive collection of 1951 Libby Golden Foliage Stemware and Drinking Glasses with the Dining Room Suite. The glassware alone is worth close to $1000.00 and is all in excellent shape. Thanks so much for you looking.
