Pie safe purchased (used) from a neighbor in 1896 by my great grandfather when he and his sister set up housekeeping following his father's death. He was 19 and his stepmother remained in the family home.
it is made of oak with some walnut panels on the sides. It has carved insets in the doors with locks on both the top and bottom cupboard doors. It has hooked on the interior to latch the left doors (both top and bottom). The sides are wooden with holes instead of tin.
