I inherited these two platters from my father-in-law. They are heavily tarnished and, thinking they were pewter, I started cleaning it with Brasso. (Sorry!) I happened to clean over the mark which reads, (eagle outline) Wm ('m' is raised position with bar under it) Rogers (star outline). The search engine returned that it could be silver and an antique. I do not know the 'condition' that would be existing underneath the tarnish. I do not need to keep it, nor to sell it immediately; if it is an antique and/or valuable, I would simply like to honor its value.
I found Dewey A Smith of Colorado on your website. I will be traveling through there in January if it is determined that an in-person review is needed. I am in Oklahoma and haven't located anyone here.
Thank you,
Mrs. S. Armstrong
