The dresser was purchased at an auction about 6 years ago. The auction house had advertised an auction of "mostly" imported antiques from Britain. There was a disclaimer that some pieces may be from local owners. This dresser does not have any marks that could be identified. The auctioneer introduced it as a "dresser of unknown date" believed to be from the countryside. One buyer thought it looked like an old Amish piece. It is solid wood construction and very heavy. I can't find anything that looks like this in design. The handle pulls are screwed in with metal caps on the inside of the drawer. That is the only metal to be found on this item. The drawers slide on a wood groove - no plastic wheels or or rollers of any kind.
