Description

In 2001 my MIL, a huge Gibb brothers fan, was bequeathed a mounted bell that had been on Andy Gibbs houseboat.
We have the letter of the woman who bid on the bell at an auction in the November 19, 1988 Love and Hope Festival Auction in Miami, FL. I am including a photo of page 2 with the pictures of the bell, wherin she describes how she won that bid and requested autograps of all of the surviving Gibbs brothers on the bell.

Category Autographs
Medium Metal
Distinguishing marks Autographed with etching tool by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb
Condition Good
Size and dimensions of this item 12" mounted. Bell about 8" high.
Date Period 1977? A November 1977 'People' article mentions the houseboat, " He bought an 80-foot houseboat with, says Andy, "great vibes and an interesting history" (a previous owner, rumored to be a mobster, was murdered in the mirrored master stateroom)."
History Bell sold at auction by Andy Gibbs' mother in November of 1988 after his death in March of 1988. The winner of that auctioned item had it until her death when she left it to my MIL. MIL passed 2011 at which point she left it to my husband.
