Antique Chair with Rush Seat and Open Carved Back

By AngelaD, 3 March, 2014
Description

I have a pair of these beautiful rush seat chairs with an open carved back. There are no marks on the chairs and the person I purchased from did not have the history on them. Both chairs are the same, the rushing is in excellent condition. The front legs have the nice detailing and nail heads are all covered. Any information would be much appreciated! I've done image searches on Ebay and Google with not much luck. The carving seems to be unique. Thanks!

Re: Antique Chair with Rush Seat and Open Carved Back

Actually your chairs are not antiques, they are just designed to look that way, it's unlikely they predate the 1950's. Not much value though, even in perfect condition we don't get much more than $75.00 a piece for them retail.

Re: Antique Chair with Rush Seat and Open Carved Back

Thanks for the info! I didn't pay much for them, it was the table I wanted, $40 for the table and 2 chairs, so works for me!
