This set seems to be from 1920s style. I would like a better description of period and style as well as appraised tax deduction value as I have donated it to a charity auction.
It includes a table with hidden butterfly leaf, ornate stretchers and heavily turned legs.
There are six chairs with matching turned legs and lyre backs; one of which is a captains chair. They have easily upholstered seats.
The buffet has matching legs, dovetailed drawers and multi-wood veneer with appliqués and curved embellishments.
The smaller side board is similarly done.
The China cabinet is also a matching piece and has a glass Door and glass shelves.
Re: Antique Dining Set
Sets like this tend to date from the early 1920's through to World War Two (1939). These sets are of no particular style, being a Mish Mash of 17th and 18th century European Furniture Styles. Most were made in the Grand Rapids Michigan area, then the furniture making capital of the USA. Value- $1200.00- $1500.00.
Re: Antique Dining Set
Thanks for the info. Does the set have any style name?
