Description
This is a large antique steamer trunk my mother bought a few years back. I think the previous owner repainted it but it's in very good condition. The inside is all original and features three pictures, a removable tray which has two compartments (one is a hat box, not sure about the other), and two compartments built into the lid. The ones in the lid have metal latches to keep them shut and are all still intact. The inside hinge is broken but it still opens and closes properly. On the back bottom corner it is dated Aug 3, 69; the front locks are dated July 1, 73. The wood is in great shape on the inside and the outside seems to have only one small scuff on it.

Re: Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk
The dates on the locks are patent marks, the truncks could date 14-17 years past that date and still have the same style of lock. Most of these predate the 1890's though. We get quite few of these dome topped trunks through here, values vary for them by condtion, but we rarely see them go for more than $150.00 at auction these days
