Hello,

 
I was wondering what this sword that I have just gotten from my grandmother is worth. I believe that it is a Dutch Hembrug "Klewang" M1898 cutlass. I have added 4 pictures of it in this post. I hope that you can help me with my question.

History My grandfather fought in Indonesia against the Japanese. He found this sword there and brought it home. Now my grandfather is dead, and my grandfather had no reason to keep it, so she gave it to me.

When  a Klewang is  made by ,,Hembrug" in the Netherlands , it will always bear the name  Hembrug in the blade.

I think, that your Klewang is manufactured in the USA  either  by Vince or Milsco.

A Hembrug Klewang condition A will cost about $ 500 and is the most wanted Klewang.
