Description
White plate with gold edge and pink and green flower pattern, approximately 9 inches in diameter. On the back, "Haviland France" is printed in green lettering, "Haviland & Co Limoges" in red (see picture). We would just like a general idea of what this might be worth. Thanks for your help.
Re: Antique Flower Plate
This plate is hard to date. Based on what I know about those backstamps, I would put it around the 1930s, however I read someone else online (eBay) date those marks as 1880, and they were charging $280 for a similar plate. On another site I saw it for $28. In all honesty, $30- $60 is what most Haviland Limoges goes for, for a plate, closer to $30 would be reasonable.
The pattern is Schleiger 42E. You could use that to look around and try to determine, but I personally have never paid more than $60 for a Limoges item and that was for an elaborate cocoa pot.
