Antique glass and silver perfume bottle?

It belonged to my granddad and upon his death I as a 11/12 year old kept it as a reminder of him.

Now at 37 I thought I better find out more about it and came across this site, so please can anyone tell me more about its age, make and value? and is it a perfume bottle or small drinks bottle?

It stands at 11cm or just over 4 inches.

Clear glass with a silver collar and glass stopper.

It is 3 sided with a bottom.

It has 4 silver marks the first I cannot make out but I think it’s the following….

J, lion with 3 curves on top and bottom.  shield and small letter b which is flat on top but has 3 curves along the bottom.  

Please note i am not looking to sell this item as it has sentimental worth to me but just very interested to see what it is.
