Small hall chair with shield on back. Large crack across seat and several smaller cracks. It has wood pegs and a stamped number. I think it's mahogany. I'd like to learn more about its history.
Most of these were mid Victorian, dating 1850-80. Most were made and sold in pairs, demand for them last peaked in the early 1990's, demand currently is very modest and values have declined a great deal. Comparables often sell for under $150.00.
