Your chairs were made in the Philipean's in the 1990's. In that time high prices were paid for genuine original Chipendale chairs and was when the highest prices for American Furniture were achieved. These are not of course antique as that work means 100 years old.
The wood is going to be "Philipeane Mahogany" or Luan not actualy a mahogany at all. They made Chris Craft boats from this wood... There are great carvers in the Philipean islands no less than very expensive Marge Carson furniture is made there.
