Antique Hanging Wall Mirror

Description 30 inches tall by 14 inches wide. Carved or machined wooden border. Atop the mirror is a simple hand painted scene (on glass) of a house beside a lake. The back is rough hewn wood, nailed in place. No markings are apparent, though I've read that removing and examining the back of a mirror may reveal relevant information. I would be afraid of damaging the back if I tried to remove it. The top piece (with the painted scene) is loose in the frame; it should probably have a spacer inserted. An appraiser called it "valuable" when my mother's estate was liquidated. That's why we kept it.

Distinguishing marks No distinguishing marks or signatures are apparent. If anything, if the wooden back was removed, the reverse side of the mirror might contain relevant information.
