Antique iron painted boston 1901

Description

Antique charcoal iron dated 1901 by the Butler mfg. co boston ma.  the butler self heater.  Wood handle, approx 8lbs.  With painted image on both sides.  very good condition. have not seen anything like this on line to this point.

CAST FLAT SAD IRON COAL CHIMNEY CHARCOAL try looking up using these words. most ask around $100.00 for plain irons . but the sell for much less. yours has a lot of color and looks great. If I had it I would ask around $80.00 to $100.00.

The decoration on this iron is not original, it was probably done in the 1980's when decoration of this type came back into popularity. These charcoal irons are very hard to sell in the current market, most of those we've seen at auction in recent years have failed to sell on their own for $30.00 and were put with box lots in order to get bids.
