Description
This ashtray was discovered by roofers lying in the sofit area on the underside of our roof when they were tearing out the old shingles.
This house is located in Providence, Rhode Island and was built in 1910. We've discovered old newspapers from the 1930s being used as insulation, but never an old item like this.
I have no idea when this might have been manufactured, but judging by the "MADE IN JAPAN" embossed mark on the back, I'm guessing it's a mass-produced item.
