Antique Leather Doctors Bag - Books Kansas City Trunk Company

Profile picture for user dolores2175

Description

Looking for value and more information about the company that made this great bag.

Fabulous antique leather doctor's bag from Books Kansas City Trunk Company. This bag looks amazing in person, and leather has been moisturized. Bag is in good condition considering it is likely around 70-80 years old. Some peeling of the leather strip that runs along the top of the bag - see pic 2.

Some wear around folds of bag, clear in pictures. Some scuffing and scratches. Interior is a bit dusty but in good condition, without any rips or tears.

History
The Books Kansas City Truck Company was founded in 1927 and remained at 9th and Main St in Kansas City, Missouri, until 2003. I believe this to be an early example of their work. Initials "CLS" are stamped onto the bag.
