Description
I have two Nankin style decorative vases 18" high . The left one has the back stamp Nankin 2 and the number 1662, the matching right vase carries just the number 2662. The photos show the damage to the right lid which has been glued, has some writing and the mouth which is chipped. From the mouth there are two unglued hair line cracks - one extends down 4 inches, towards the front of the vase and the other 7 inches downwards toward the back - also unglued. The gold is worn away in places especially the handles. I have been told that these are over a 100 years old but don't know much about their history and would like to know more about their history, maker, value.
Any help would be much appreciated.
