Antique Roman Pottery

By anighbert, 26 May, 2014
Description

This pottery piece has been in my family for over 80 years. It comes from the Lazio or Tuscany region of Italy, but I do not know  if it is Roman, Etruscan or of no value. Supposedly, my father came in possession of this item from a 'Tombarolo', one of those people who search old tombs, caves etc. for possible treasures. The item is about 4.5" in height, 3" in width, and the circular opening is about 2" in diameter.

The item has been damaged and repaired, so I'm sure if it has any value, it will be much less; however, my main interest is to find out if indeed it is a Roman or Etruscan piece.  I do not know what other information should be included, as this is my first time on this site.

Tahnk you,
