Description

1920-1930's ice cream bar made by The Bishop & Babcock Company, Cleveland OH. Bar back with three stools, two booths and miscellaneous accessories that are related to the piece. Oak with dark finish. Art Deco design. This piece features a marble top and 5 beveled glass doors. The center door has a Coca-Cola poster (circa 1940s; most likely attached years after the bar was made) attached to the inside. The poster is in pristine condition with the exception of one tack hole holding it in place. A large mirror rests on the back bar. The mirror frame, also in dark oak, features ornate carvings & decorations around the top and sides, as well as brass flower petal light fixtures across the top. The mirror itself features a large Coca-Cola advertisement with the firms famous logo. The front bar is also constructed of oak. It features a marble counter and a marble kick plate. The bar has 6 porcelain fixtures for toppings, all of which are original and intact including porcelain labels for each topping flavor along with dipping spoon. The bar has 3 fountains, which are brass. All other surfaces are nickel-plated. The bar does not include a refrigeration unit. There is a compartment for ice blocks. The bar does contain plumbing. There are 3 porcelain holders next to the main sink. The bars 3 oak stools are on steel pedestals. The booths have been painted, but the rest of the bar is original and has not been restored. The bar is in very good condition overall and is 100% intact.
